Folk tales and folk music
Dec. 10th, 2006 11:52 pmI watched Grosse Pointe Blank again on Friday night. It still has a fantastic soundtrack.
Saturday started with a great cooked breakfast (scrambled eggs and smoked salmon!). I made it into town after lots of dithering and failed to do any Christmas shopping, as I got side-tracked into a second-hand bookshop. I did buy a beautifully bound copy of Folk Tales of the British Isles, so it was a worthwhile trip anyway.
On Saturday evening I went to visit
huggyrei and
telpher in their amazingly organised new flat. It was a fine evening, although I couldn't feed my caffeine addiction due to the absence of a kettle. I slept well afterwards, so maybe it did me good.
I spent the first half of Sunday helping
zandev add goth gear to his wardrobe. My father then turned up and helped me build some much needed new bookcases. And we rounded off the weekend by seeing Sid Kipper at one of the fund-raising events for the Oxford Folk Festival. Which reminds me I should buy a ticket for the festival while they are still on the early-bird offer. I would really like to see Salsa Celtica live.
