Giving in

Have finally given in and created an LJ. Now all I need is some free time in which to write things. This evening I have drinks at my old college followed by badminton, which is clearly the wrong way round. Maybe having a drink after badminton as well would balance things out...

That's one glittery tigger.

Welcome to LJ. Let me show you around... There's [livejournal.com profile] zandev, you'll probably want to put him on your flist (friends list). Just mousing over the little headbod thing to the left of his name will give you 'add to friends list' as an option - that's the case anywhere you see an ljname.

Other people you may wish to find include: [livejournal.com profile] quisalan, she who ninjas; [livejournal.com profile] waistcoatmark, his name is self explanatory; [livejournal.com profile] undyingking, he who runs freeform games.

It's generally thought bad form to use people's real names on LJ, they might not want everyone to know what that name is. If you don't know how to tag a name, as I've done above, you can just write out the ljname in plaintext.

If a friend doesn't have an lj I usually make up a fake ljname for them and write it in plaintext. For example I have sometimes referred to you as LadyInRed. Opinion is split between those who refer to TheHattedOne like this and those who link to the [livejournal.com profile] angrymarmot journal created for her as a joke. She prefers the former, since the other one makes her sound like a smaller crapper version of [livejournal.com profile] surlygibbon, who seems to have deleted his journal or I've got the name wrong. (It's something like that though.)

There are lots more of us on lj, if you look at our profile pages (found by mousing over the headbod) you can take an educated guess as to who is who and start adding more people. When you add a friend posts from their journal appear on your flist unless they have locked them to a group that doesn't include you.

That's enough of a tour for now. I'll explain locking and filters some other time. Happy journaling!

Hola!
This might mean I actually have to get round to posting things in my lj every so often. Oh well :-)

The partner to TheHattedOne is actually [livejournal.com profile] chrestomancy, it was just all written by the surly gibbon...

I get the feeling you're someone I must know, at least by reputation. BUT WHO?

I thought it might be you. I've added you, so you can read the fascinating book review I'm about to write!
